Knutholmen - Cuisine

Our restaurant has been created in an old, timber-built wharf-side warehouse, which was transported from Bergenin about 1880. The original timber has been well preserved, and the restaurant’s pub features a mooring bollard which was erected in 1810.

At walking distance around the tiny bay are the old boathouses, the restaurant with dancing in the evening, and the hotel with rooms and course facilities.

We specialise in local seafood. Fresh ingredients are imperative for a delicious meal. We have unique access to the freshest seafood, right on our doorstep.

A trip to Knutholmen is like a journey into a maritime world.
The Fosse family owns and runs the hotel and has charmingly preserved the old boathouse style. The restaurant is the epitome of this style.

Outside the restaurant is an aquarium with fish from the area.

We have a reputation for good food in Kalvåg, and we take great pride in safeguarding that reputation. We are devoted to good food and sourcing ingredients freshly from the sea - you won't find fresher fish than in Kalvåg.

We specialise in traditional fish dishes and enjoy inventing new dishes based on the wonderful produce we source from the sea waters around Kalvåg.
